I routinely underestimate GitHub Actions.

“Gee, I should setup an automated task for this. It’ll be easy. I’ve setup cron jobs, after all!”

Click on Actions.

“Oh right, before I can make an action, I need to create a workflow for the action. Sure, whatever.”

Click on Workflow.

“Well, none of these workflows are really what I want. I’ll choose one and modify it, I guess.”

Click on Configure (for a workflow).

“So let me get this right: to configure my workflow, I need to make an action?”

I feel like I’m on the verge of a panic attack any time I go through this stupid process. It’s such a roundabout way of saying something:

It’s all very simple: To do what you do want to do, you need to do what you don’t want to do, but in not doing what you do want to do – while your not doing what you don’t want to do, you are doing what you do want to do!

AHHHHH!

AM I MAKING AN ACTION? OR AM I MAKING A WORKFLOW?!

OH, RIGHT. MY ACTION NEEDS TO BE IN A WORKFLOW? HOW ABOUT IT’S CALLED “WORKFLOW ACTIONS”?!
